Restaurants and Bars from Inchydoney Beach to The Warren 

Trails in Castlefreke Woods and Rathbarry Village; beaches at Long Strand and Red Strand; camping at Mountain Escape and Camus Farm; dinner at the award-winning Field Kitchen Restaurant.​ Guinness Tower, Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Stone will tick the boxes, but for the authentic experience visit the coastal villages of Ardfield and Rathbarry in West Cork. From Cork City take the N71 West to Clonakilty. From Killarney take the N71 East to Rosscarbery. Between Clonakilty and Rosscarbery, to the seaward side of the N71, are the rural villages of Ardfield and Rathbarry. Stay at Inchydoney Beach Hotel, Dunmore House Hotel, O'Donovan's Hotel, Emmet Hotel or Park Hotel in Clonakilty. Stay at Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery. Start the day with a morning swim at Inchydoney Beach or Red Strand Beach. Follow up with breakfast / brunch at The Fish Basket on Long Strand Beach or The Mountain Grill Cafe near Ardfield Village.  In the afternoon take the cliff walk from Owenahincha Beach to The Warren Beach, take the forest trail around Castlefreke Woods around Kilkeran Lake or stroll the length of Inchydoney Beach. There are also many small coves to discover including Dunnycove, Sands Cove and Ballycusheen. Add to your itinerary a drink in Fishers Cross Bar, Ardfield Village or O'Donovan's Pub, Rathbarry Village.  Complete the day with a 4-course dinner in the award-winning Field Kitchen Restaurant at Camus Farm near Ardfield Village. Listed in ‘The Irish Times Guide to 100 of the Best Places to Eat in Ireland’ and noted in their ‘Top 7 Outdoor Dining Spots’. Head Chef, Bob Cairns was shortlisted for Chef of the Year 2024. A local taxi service is available on 086 267 0443.​ The Restaurant also houses an art gallery selling the work of local artists and is open from Easter to Christmas. Winter hours are from 6pm Friday and Saturday, Summer hours include Thursdays, with the first course served at 7pm. Other local places of interest include the Museum and the Sprigging School in Rathbarry Village. Sprigging is a form of lace that derives its name from the fact that the motifs are shaped like a leafy sprig. The school was built in 1825 as there was a huge market for handmade lace at the time and here, local girls would learn how to embroider and make lace, thus giving them the ability to earn an income.  Other activities in this coastal area include pony trekking and surf lessons.
